PATSOFT (www.patsoft.no) has since 2005 etablished a successful IPR event with top speakers from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland and USA in the area of IPR, softwarepatenting, Business models (Open Source) for SME's in the ICT sector. Main target is companies in the ICT, software, electronics and Infomedia sector, which is the fastest growing sector in terms of number of international patents. Companies like IBM, Microsoft and Oracle being on top of statistics. In this sector there has been much resistance against the patent system. With PATSOFT our goal is to show what opportunities there are for SME's to navigate and choose their IPR strategies, which for many is a big challenge. Also we want to pinpoint improvement of the patent system as a topic of interst in this sector.
